Later on that evening, we heard that there was a good chance of seeing a Barn Owl at around dusk in the area surrounding WWT Welney, so we set off and arrived just around sunset. We looked around but didn't see much until we started to drive back home, when we disturbed a Barn Owl by accident who then flew off into a tree. We heard it hooting and slowly drove back down the road until suddenly we saw one standing there on one of the fence posts just outside of the visitors centre!
